Growing older

I have always been pretty lucky when it has come to the aging process, but I guess that all good things must come to an end. Over the past year or so, I have noticed that my hair has not, how do we say, been as lush as it once was. It never really bothered me until the other day when I really noticed that the top and the sides have been growing in at different rates. To some, it is no big deal, and it really is not to me, except that it is a sign that I am getting older. I guess I should be happy that it has held up as long as it has considering my lineage (My mother’s father was like Mr Clean). I think the truth of the matter is that my brother is 3 years older than I, and has all his hair – and he lives a crappy lifestyle. I eat healthy, take care of my body, and I still got the short end of the stick compared to him (He also had better vision than I did pre-lasik). What can you do? I guess I will have to decide whether it will be Captain Picard or Mr. Clean down the road.

In other news….
My best friends going away party is Saturday. It should be fun, as there will be lots of people and softball that will make the Bad News Bears look like the New York Yankees. No excuses for those who have no athletic ability. There will also be beer and bar-b-q (including vegetarian) later in the evening (6:00-6:30ish).

A week from Friday, Ken and I leave for our annual manly outdoor excursion. This year it is hiking the North Country Trail from Grand Marais to Munising in 2 days (45 miles or so), kayaking Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, and a small brew pub tour, including places like Tahquamenon Falls Brewery & Pub. It should be an exciting fun filled 6 days.

Did I mention that we are now members of the NetFlix community (the $10 plan)? I am eagerly awaiting the first movie “House of Flying Daggers” and then “Afterlife,” which is one of my favorite films of all time. We had been avoiding it, but we could not find the indie film selection locally.

One last thing. I hope that Detroiters woke up and voted in their primary today. Kwame needs to go, as does all of the shitty council members.
